The most frequently asked questions relate to the registration fee for the 3-day conference. The information below relates specifically to the in-person 3-day conference. The 2020 registration fee covers our expenses for technology involved in producing a virtual conference and the processing fee through Eventbrite. It is difficult to provide a simple answer as there are multiple types of registration.
Every effort is made to keep costs of producing the conference down to enable us to maintain the lowest registration fees possible. To help you in planning to attend the conference, we will provide the projected* fees for 2020.
Registration is ALL INCLUSIVE, INCLUDING LUNCH EACH DAY.
The only additional fees might be an additional $50 fee for reserving an exhibit table and for those registering on line, there is a $10 service charge. Otherwise,there are NO ADDITIONAL fees for conference attendance.
Hotel room rates are separate and reservations must be made directly with the hotel, not an on-line broker to receive the substantial discount the hotel extends to our conference attendees. For information on the hotel, click on the “Lodging” tab. It is suggested that attendees budget about $100 per night for their hotel room, which should cover the special rate as well as fees and taxes. Rooms may be shared by 2 individuals, and by our negotiations the hotel provides a free FULL BREAKFAST each day to registered conference attendees staying at the hotel.
To be as transparent as possible these are the projected* 2020 registration fees:
Early Registration: $235
Regular Registration: $285
At the Door Registration: $315
Presenters are extended a modest reduction in the early registration fee. Note: If planning a panel presentation, only 2 members of the panel may register at this lower fee. Additional panel members must pay the full Early Registration fee.
Special Rates: Students & Groups
The Conference Board is pleased to extend a reduced registration fee to students and groups of three (3) or more representing one organization. Currently this fee is projected to be $195.00. There are separate guidelines for registering as a student(s) or group. E-mail info@prisonersfamilyconference.org for details. Special Registration Fees must be submitted by U.S. mail prior to stated deadlines.
Scholarships: Prison Family Members Only
A limited number of partial scholarships are available by application for members of prison families needing assistance with the registration fee. Scholarships are not available for presenters. Those wishing to apply for a partial scholarship may e-mail info@prisonersfamilyconference.org for a scholarship application.
All registration includes the full conference experience, including all keynote presentations; selection from multiple diverse interactive workshops; resource and exhibit area; evening advocacy and special event sessions; door prize drawings; noon meals and refreshments and much more. On occasion special activities are provided such art displays or a concert. All such additional activity will be included with the general registration fee unless otherwise noted.
* Stated fees are “projected” based on currently expected conference expenses. Fees are subject to change based on actual expenses incurred.
