The conference steering committee seemed to be getting a bit sidetracked on the need to replace our logo that’s been in place almost 10 years now. So, a quick revision was made with plans to hold a competition for a new logo. The winner of the competition and the new logo would then be introduced at the 2018 10th Anniversary Conference.
MiChelle Moore who has coordinated the prisoners fine art competition for the past 3 years and conference chair, Carolyn Esparza will be working out details for the logo competition, but present plans are to present the challenge to creative prisoners, along with the invitation to participate in the 2018 creative arts competiton…and maybe the public will be invited too, because many creative prisoners are now returned citizens and we don’t want to miss the opportunity to have their creations in the mix.
In the meantime, great ideas have been generated from the steering committee’s e-mail brainstorming session we’ve had over the past two days. Maybe it will whet your interest in attending when we tell you the ideas include:
- live interview from a prison;
- a book club;
- a musical interlude, and
- a screening.
In fact, we’d love to hear YOUR ideas about what you’d like to see happen at the conference. I’ve just got to figure out a way to present that idea to you, so you’ll know to submit your ideas. So, if you are reading this and are interested in helping generate ideas for an awesome 10th anniversary conference, leave a comment here, or send YOUR ideas to us by e-mail to [email protected] or message us on the Prisoner’s Family Conference FB page. We can’t promise all ideas will be incorporated into the 2018 conference, but we certainly will consider all serious submissions.
Until next time.
